A Space with a Story
Ninety Seven Salon is nestled in the heart of College Hill—more specifically, inside the iconic Happiness Plaza. We adore this area; College Hill is lively, community-driven, and full of energy, and the neighboring businesses are genuinely supportive of one another. Happiness Plaza itself has a charm that's impossible to replicate, with a rich history that dates back to its grand opening in 1968.
A fun piece of that history is that there has always been a salon inside this building. The very first was Frans Salon, and over the decades the space has passed through the hands of several owners, each bringing their own style, creativity, and vision to it. When we took over the space in July of 2024, we felt incredibly grateful to continue that legacy while building something that reflects who we are today.
The Salon At Happiness Plaza
Before becoming Ninety Seven Salon, this space was home to The Salon At Happiness Plaza. The legacy of beauty and community that was built here over the years inspired us to honor that history while creating something new. We're proud to carry that torch forward.
The Transformation
We fully remodeled the salon—new floors, fresh paint, updated wash bowls and chairs, mirrors, vanities, cabinetry, countertops—nearly every detail has been transformed.
One of the things we loved most from the beginning were the original arches found both inside and outside the building. Preserving that architectural charm while blending our own aesthetic felt like the perfect way to honor the building's past and create a space that feels like home.
Although we will never stop evolving or refining our vision, we hope you can feel the heart, intention, and hard work that went into bringing this space to life. We truly believe you'll love it just as much as we do.
